RenArt Recession Refillables (RARR)…. Thots???
Next week we plan to introduce a new line of Refillable Journals. Our current line is all hand-stitched around the cover, some with inside pockets, making them more expensive. Our Recession line of things is targeted at being every bit as functional and durable but with a basic and less expensive design. In this line we machine stitch the covers which reduces the time it takes to make them and will reduce your cost by about 1/3.
Here is our 9X12 version with a double strap closure. Other closure options will be a traditional style, wrap and tie, a single strap and a flap with a snap closure instead of the tie. This 9X12 size will have 128 pages vs the 96 in our current 9X12 refillable and will be about 2/3 the cost although pricing at this point is not set. Our US size refillable journals will be compatible with most mainstream brand refills of the same size in case you would rather use their less expensive refills.
The available sizes will be 4X6, 5.5X8.5, A5, 8.5X11 and 9X12. I have considered making an A6 and A4 size for our European customers and those who prefer the European sizes.
Let us know what you think. If you are planning on getting one, watch for the intro discount we have on most of our new products. They are typically introduced on a Thursday or Friday with a 20% discount available thru the weekend.

I like it, Arthur, what mainstream refills are you thinking of?
I have the large Mole cover in the full grain natural, and I LOVE it. I especially love listening to people admire it.

The Strathmore and Canson refills mainly. The Moleskine Notebooks would be too small and not have a perfect fit in these. We have covers for those already at lower prices.

Very nice.
Looks like a match for my letter-sized circa journal. Is it the same letter?

Leather, not letter.

Nice, I like the compatibility angle. Although I am more of a wrap and tie man, myself.

Art:
I plan on purchasing at least one, maybe more! I have the poet’s journal now and I can use the same refills for daily use in my work as a pharmacognosist.
I come to work now fully Artbeasted!

Beautiful! I think I’d prefer the flap & snap or the wrap & tie closures. I would love an A6 European sized option (and/or something that fits Clairefontaine notebooks)!
Can’t wait to see the full rollout!

Looks really nice!
Love the double strap, but still prefer wrap and tie closures.

I like the double snap closure. I believe refillable is very important as I like to carry a leather journal to write in and then when filled taking all the pertinent information from the pages and putting it on a disc. Then I also print out everything that I’ve copied onto the disc on single spaced 8×11 paper. It usually only fills up about 25 pieces of paper which I store in a notebook along with other entries. I then take the pages I wrote upon and recycle them as kindle for my fireplace, this way, if my words are never published at least they go up in smoke and float around the universe. Dig the journal idea.

No 5 x 7 size? Man, I was really hoping for one of those! Gorgeous journal either way.

Please make it in A4 size!

I like it! Would be nice if it had a business card holder on the inside, or a small pocket. Been many times I’ve gotten a business card from someone and then washed in my shirt pocket…it would’ve been nice to put it in a safe place.
