Giveaway #28 Exposed! Tell us what you think.

Number 11, Ara, won the free giveaway last week. It was an erasure poem of the 9/11 Commission Report, The O Mission Repo. If you didn’t win and would like to pick up your own copy, click here.

When Julia Child was research assistant in the Secret Intelligence division of the Office of Strategic Services, she typed ten thousand names of officers on thousands of note cards in order to keep track of them. When Julia Child was a culinary deity, she created hundreds of recipes that would be printed on thousands of recipe cards.

For both of these jobs, Julia sure could have used one of our new versatile 3 x 5 one-inch ring binders ($20). Leather lined (no suede side showing), these hand-held helpers hold about 80 cards*, more with other company’s lighter card stock, and will come in every color we offer: rustic brown and black and all seven Rustic Elegance colors. And the exposed rings don’t just look good—they help the covers stay flat.

If you are like Julia and mix business with pleasure, you may want to two-tone your binder—one color for the inside and another for the outside. Mix and match black, molasses, rust, ocean, avocado, cranberry, and rustic brown and leave a comment about your favorite color combos.

Need a pen-loop? A diagonal inside pocket? Leave us a comment to let us know what you think about these features. Who knows. Your comment may be the one that wins this free giveaway.

Remember that the winners need to contact us with their address and phone number in order to get their gift.

As usual, click HERE to read the rules of this Free Giveaway BUT do not comment on that link to enter. You enter by commenting on THIS post.

Soon to come: ½ and ¾-inch ring binders and a Name the New Stuff contest (winner gets the stuff!)

*We use a super-sturdy acid-free100 brightness 100# cardstock. Check out our website for our card offerings.

  1. Roz Says:

This is great! For those of us who can’t forget about ring binders… would be just perfect with a pen loop and inside slash/vertical pocket!

  2. Peggy Love Says:

    WANT IT~! LOVE IT~!

  3. Chad Says:

I really like the exposed rings! Would love to win this!

  4. Twila Price Says:

I love this. A pen loop would be excellent, as well as at least one slash pocket. I’m thinking ocean and cranberry, but haven’t decided which should be the outside. :-)

  5. Twila Price Says:

BTW, where can I order this?!! Wants one NOW.

  6. Susan Stewart Says:

What a cute little binder! I love the exposed rings.

I would create it with rustic brown on the outside and avocado green on the inside — a nice, fresh look for keeping recipes. :)

    –Susan

  7. Peggy Hartsell Says:

Looks great! A pen loop is a must - maybe a split one (half on the front and half on the back) that could be used to hold the book shut, or could hold two pens. A slash pocket on the inside front, and a slit pocket in the inside back to hold a single card to stick out the top of the binder would be nice (I am thinking a shopping list that would be findable without having to open the notebook).

  8. Skip Says:

Very eye-catching with the exposed binder rings. Since I missed out on the wine journal, this would be great for tasting notes! Pen loop a definite plus. Product lust is setting in yet again…

  9. Leigh Says:

I think the Pen loop and side pocket would make this even more great. I want on as is now.

  10. Mik Says:

Pretty sweet and just to be safe I think you should put pen loops one verything, can never have enough pens on ya.

  11. Carolyn Says:

Hubby would love this, I’m in.

  12. Brian Says:

This is great. I’ve got one of your 3×5 cases that I store blank cards in, but this would be fantastic for organizing cards in use. Count me in for the drawing!

  13. jess Says:

I’d love to see the rustic brown with the inside either rust or cranberry (depending on the brightness of the cranberry). I think I’d definitely need a pen loop and the inside pocket would be a very handy addition.

    jess

  14. Bosch Says:

This looks pretty nice. I think that the inside pocket without the pen loop would look the best.

  15. Lisa PT Says:

    Wonderful. Love all your products.

  16. Rocket Jones Says:

I’ve been a 3×5 user for… forever. Two tone - eh. Pen loop - maybe one to fit a Fisher Space Pen, more like a short pen pocket. A pocket is always handy, but at this size, might be too tempting to overstuff.

  17. Steven Says:

    Awesome! I want this one.

  18. JohnW Says:

Very nice. I like seeing its endoskeleton as exo.

  19. Sandi Hester Says:

Does this mean you have to be a great cook? Hope not!

  20. Caroline Says:

I am obsessed with 3 by 5 cards! I think Rustic Brown with Ocean Blue would be beautiful :)

And I think definitely for the pen loop (you could even put it on the spine), a diagonal inside pocket, and a pocket on the back side for extra cards! I tend to like extras though…

  21. John Says:

This is VERY nice! Hope I get picked!

  22. Kess Says:

What a unique piece. Love the rustic look, and the ring cutouts.

  23. Russell Says:

Awesome piece. If it were me, it seems like a pen loop and slash pocket would get in the way on something this small… Maybe instead have a leather insert that clips into the binder, and can hold a few business cards and maybe even a pen?

    Good luck everybody :)

  24. Jeff S. Says:

Hmm… Can’t go wrong with rustic brown on the outside, but what about a color with some red in it for the inside? Maybe not… I can’t decide…

  25. Karen Says:

A pen loop would rock. I have such a thing for notecards.

  26. Laurel Sons Says:

I can think of so many uses for this. I would love it in cranberry with a pen loop.

  27. Pam Says:

Rustic Brown and Ocean, half pocket with a pen loop — sweet!!! I can smell it now, nothing like it for sure …. sigh ;-)

  28. SusanBeth Says:

This is a GREAT idea! I run my life off 3X5 cards, and would dearly love something more secure than my current elastic band.

I also think the idea above — having a narrow loop on each cover that you slide your pen through is a great idea.

  29. Chris Says:

I think a pen loop that sticks out some would be good (so it doesn’t interfere with the cards). My color combination would be ocean on the outside, and black on the inside.

  30. DAVID EA Says:

THIS LOOKS GREAT! IT’S A GREAT IDEA! A PEN LOOP WOULD BE NICE.

  31. Manny De Castro Says:

Who would have thought that when Julia was a part time underground agent during the war, would have used index cards with her contacts on them and then continued when she made her fame in the cooking world.

Business card slits and a pen slot or two would be great for my needs and it seems others have liked that idea also. What about adding additional slits for computer SD cards or stuff like that too…

  32. Patrick P Says:

This is a great item. I look forward to seeing more pictures and the thinner sizes.

  33. Sharon Says:

I love this little binder. The exposed loops are cute. And a pen holder would definitely come in handy.

  34. Kelvin Roberts Says:

Love the binder… Would like a pen loop.

  35. Firlotte Says:

the “peek-a-boo” action is kinda hot…

  36. Linda F Says:

A pen loop would be a great addition.

  37. Mark Dehn Says:

That looks great just like it is. A pen loop would be great but that is all.

  38. Teresa Says:

Love the exposed rings. The index card size is great for organizing daily activity priority lists for sales or business contacts. A pen loop would be great, but 2 would be better for pen and highlighter.

  39. everstar Says:

Oh, I really like this! I do agree though, a pen loop would be useful.

  40. Peter Jaros Says:

Ooh, very nice. Definitely wants a pen loop.

  41. Kyle Says:

The exposed rings give this such a distinctive look. I really like that. I think that a small pen loop would be a necessary addition. However, I’m not convinced that the slash pocket is needed. Given the exposed rings, it seems like a pocket (at least on the front cover) would make the cover somewhat larger than would be required without it. I really like the idea of a cover that extends just a bit past the end of the cards - perhaps just enough to allow room for a pen loop.

  42. Elaine Says:

Love it! Count me in please.

  43. Nissa Says:

    LOVE (is all you need).

  44. Henneke Says:

This is fantastic! I’d love it for work AND play - I make lists wherever I am so this would be just perfect…please may I win for once??

  45. Henneke Says:

Forgot to add the additional features comment: my colours are definitely rustic brown on the outside, ocean on the inside - blue is the best cooling colour on a hectic day :-) and yes to pen loop and diagonal pocket on the inside - there are always too many things floating in my bag which would benefit from being gathered together for efficiency…

  46. Diane M Says:

Ok … this is so cool! I live for my 3×5 cards and would love to win this!

  47. jbo24 Says:

Very cool - I like the unique design.

  48. jasedit Says:

After seeing the other post with this baby opened up, I’m really interested in this now. So here’s my entry to hopefully win this nifty little case.

  49. Terri Says:

I am really getting into using the cards now and would love to win this!!

  50. Sol Says:

Great design. Love things that involve 3×5 cards…

  51. Collin Says:

I’ve always liked 3×5 cards, but never really got into using them for anything because of their loose nature… perhaps this would solve that ;)

  52. Lynn Says:

I love it! Yes to the inside pocket & pen-loop.

  53. ted Says:

    yes please.

  54. Blair Says:

Nice touch! I really like it.

  55. sara Says:

i think the pocket and pen loop would be useful :)

  56. Michael Says:

I love the whole rustic vibe. It’s very cool!

  57. Celia Says:

Whoo! That would be great for the volunteer work I’m involved in. Definitely a pen loop, either side. A strap to keep it closed would be great too. Here’s hoping.

  58. Mike Clemens Says:

Mmmm, pretty. I’ve really taken to 3×5 card over the past year and a half, first by disc-binding them for work projects, and then by using loose cards to organize story ideas and parts of outlines for NaNoWriMo. I haven’t yet been able to turn away a storage system or a pack of blank cards. This is a hundred times more classy than my thrift-store recipe boxes, though.

  59. Martine Says:

I would love this in blue/green. Definitely a pen loop. Great job.

  60. Carla Says:

I love it! I would definitely need a pen loop and diagonal slash pockets always rock. The other thing I’d want is a small closure - just enough to keep it closed and the pages safe when I tossed in a bag or on the back seat…

  61. kookychick Says:

What an interesting concept! I think I’d like the rust and avocado, or maybe the avocado and cranberry combos the best. :)

  62. Ric A. Says:

    Very cool! Love it!

  63. Frank Says:

Looks nice! Does it have a thread for bookmarking?

  64. Fran Says:

I can think of so many things I could use for. It’s so pretty and professional looking. I live it just the way it is.

  65. Bailey S Says:

I’d like one with a built in clip to pin stray papers under. People give me things all day long and my solution now it to have a binder clip or two on my planner.

  66. J Says:

That would be so handy! I would go with basic black, a pen loop, and perhaps a slash pocket too.

  67. Kenny D. Says:

This is very, very nice looking! It looks like something you could carry with you every day for decades. Is there an inside pen loop like the July 6th posting - was that a Pilot Vanishing Point pen in there? I think one pen loop on something like this is a must. Two pen loops may be too much on something this size. An inside pocket would also be very handy. The pocket would likely need to be in the back so it doesn’t cover the rings.

Inside colors would be nice for variation: dark navy blue, green, a deep red, and a jet black could all be very good options as well as having an option to have the inside the same color as the outside.

  68. Will Says:

Let me at it! A pen loop would be awesome

  69. Sharon Abar Says:

For me a pen loop is a must. A 4×6 version would be great in addition to the 3×5.

  70. Dan Says:

Very handsome! I could definitely use one of these.

  71. Carolyn Bremer Says:

I love this! I am an index card user. A lovely binder like this is perfect. I’ve just been stuffing them in my pockets.. kinda ugly at the end of the day.

  72. Alexia Says:

Wow, this looks lovely!! a pen loop would be a perfect addition as well as an inside pocket for a few loose cards.

  73. Patricia Says:

I do use a lot of index cards, and I would love this! The extra features of a pen loop and an inside pocket would make it just perfect!

  74. Michael Hartford Says:

Very handsome! The inside pocket and pen loop would definitely be useful.

  75. Elaine Willis Says:

I think a pen loop would be a necessity. Hope I win.

  76. LizPf Says:

I’ve been using an index card size duct tape folder for several years … it lives in my pants pocket. The cards — and my bullet space pen — come in very handy.

You binder has lots more class than duct tape! A pen loop would be nice; I like the elastic ones that fit many different pens. A slash pocket would be handy if it keeps the size of the binder small.

I love the bit about Julia Child … one of my heroines.

  77. Rachel Says:

So so so cool. And yes, a pen loop would be a good idea.

  78. Jeff Rhind Says:

This looks really nice. I think a pen loop would be outstanding!!

  79. Sara Says:

This would be really handy to have in my purse. No more searching for pens and scraps of paper.

  80. Kingpin Says:

It looks great! This is exactly what I am looking for! I hope that I win!!!

  81. Tim Watters Says:

Looks nice but I wonder if it defeats the purpose of 3×5 (small i.e pocketable). I think it would work better as a 4×6.

  82. Brooke Highlander Says:

Definitely a pen loop, and maybe a slash pocket on the outside. But lovely as is. Fits in my purse, and I like to travel. Use it at work to take notes as I go. Wonderful!

  83. Scotty Jackson Says:

+1 to the idea of a pen pocket for a Space Pen or similar as opposed to a pen loop. Definitely like the two-tone idea as well - brown and olive leaps to mind. As an avid index card user, I’m thinking that 1/2″ rings would be enough - I don’t carry that many “active” cards at one time, and like the concept of portability. Gorgeous exposed rings, and also dig on the idea of an interior slash pocket. Nice work!

  84. Linda Hepler Says:

This is beautiful! I think the rustic brown with an ocean interior would look great. Definitely a pen loop with interior pocket - that would be all I would need to carry throughout the day to keep up with my duties at home and work. Well, unless you are also offering an administrative assistant, house cleaner and chef!

  85. junghwa Says:

loving the GORGEOUS binder. it’s adorable.

  86. Raphael Says:

    so coooooooooool :)

  87. Mitch Says:

I love this! I would like to se a different color inside like brown, tan or black. It would give a more professional look which is what I like for my job. Love the pen loop. I just started looking at this website. Love the products!!

  88. Michael Schollert Says:

This is really beautiful. I am amazed by the products here and would love to be able to get some of these product in Norway/Europe. Despite the format being different from ours I am convinced I would be able to put it to good use.

  89. Doug K. Says:

Great idea and flawless execution! Just what I need to keep my cards in order.

  90. Erika Says:

Beautiful! I don’t know how you keep coming up with these wonderful ideas and designs, but please don’t stop!

  91. Tom W Says:

Another great idea!! This would be a very useful binder to carry around. Myself, I feel both a pen loop and diaganol pocket would be handy (although I certainly wouldn’t complain if I won this prototype :) ).

  92. Jacob Says:

This looks great! A pen loop would be necessary, but I wonder if there is some way that it could hang down inside the rings so it doesn’t change the overall form factor. I have absolutely no idea, but the concept intrigues me. Slash pocket too, of course, but only for a few cards. Now, which color(s)? Hmm…

  93. Tilden Says:

I’d use one of these a lot. I think an outside pocket for quick in/out access to a single card would be very handy.

  94. Amy Says:

That looks beautiful…. but I am always in favour of a pen loop

  95. Eric Says:

This looks really cool and practical. Nice site BTW!!!

  96. Maggi D Says:

Wow, looks beautiful! Maybe I’ll get lucky? And I agree, an elastic pen loop is the best bet - it flattens out nicely when not in use

  97. Angie Says:

This is terrific. I long for the accoutrements of a romantic spy/chef career.

  98. Walter Says:

    Art,

This looks good and is rugged enough to last a lifetime. I like having a pen loop, although adding one without increasing bulk and size is a challenge. For example, maybe a pen sleeve on the outside as seen in some Levenger products might work. The sleeve could be made of reinforced (fabric lining?), but thinner leather, so if one didn’t want to put a pen in, the sleeve would squash down to take up less room. Thinner leather would also allow the pen’s clip to be used to keep the pen in the sleeve. Just an idea. :-)

The inside pocket is desirable too.

  99. Cindy Rasmussen Says:

Cool product! I’d love to have one.

  100. Maryann Says:

    Ingenious! Clever!

  101. Craig Says:

    Cool!

  102. genine Says:

AWESOME!!! i posted suggestion at the other one…

  103. Nathan Leveck Says:

As usual this is lovely, winning one would make my year :-)

  104. gill_smoke Says:

I have been using the same hipster with new cards for 3 years. This product or something like it might be an upgrade.

  105. Arktos19 Says:

Suh-weeeet! Is this going to be a new product???

  106. Ingrid Says:

pen loop yes. Normally I go ga-ga over your cranberry but I love this one in the brown!

  107. William Says:

Am I too late? I have been eyeing these notebooks for years now!

  108. Seattlejo Says:

I would love to have it.

  109. Tree Frog Says:

This binder is incredibly beautiful and functional! It beats the hell out of other card storage methods…including those that are more expensive!

    Great job!

  110. Mel Says:

Oh, this is fabulous. And yes to pen loops.

  111. Nicole Says:

This is a great idea! So many uses, I would need more than one.

  112. Gretchen Says:

You can never go wrong with a pen-loop. If I don’t win when will it be available for purchase?

  113. Lisa Says:

This is exactly what I was looking for, but bought a 4×6 card holder with photo sleeves instead. Very cool; I will be getting one of these when they are available for sale!!

  114. A.A. Skehan Says:

I love this binder. The old-school rings are still the best. I would like some sort of pocket on the inside for misc. small papers/receipts.

  115. Wayne Says:

As usual, you have made another functional tool with a really nice artistic look to it. I love the things you create.

  116. Linda Says:

What a great looking card holder! I love the cutout for the rings. I’d really like to have one of these. :)

  117. Nicole Says:

I LOVE THIS! It would be great with a pen loop and slash pocket for my diaperbag. I could keep my schedules, important numbers, children’s information and more there!
I would LOVE to win one#

  118. Julie Says:

This is nice - I think the ocean would look good with the silver rings. It’s a lovely size.

  119. Elizabeth Moore Says:

Love it, want it, need it.

  120. Keith Says:

Would love to win this–it looks great

  121. Dan Says:

This is a wonderful addition to any GTD setup. I know for sure that it’d be a much better way than I use now to keep my cards handy. GREAT product idea. Cheers.

  122. R. Stern Says:

This is perfect. I work in a sales environment at a large retailer, and all my notes are on 3 x 5 index cards. This would make my life so much easier! 2 pen loops and a slash pocket in black (it’s a conservative environment!) would be perfect!

  123. bryan Says:

love the look, though the ring slots on the cover are a bit disconcerting. mavelous!

  124. Robert Says:

That looks amazing. I would love to have one of these. A pen loop would be awesome, but definitely not a deal breaker.

  125. Mike Says:

Looks lovely, something I could slip in my work bag for notes during the day.

  126. Sergio Says:

    Hope I’m not too late!

  127. Mitchell Says:

My mom’d love this one to keep recipes organized.

  128. Dave Gill Says:

    quite nice!

  129. Julie Rozzi Says:

Looks like it would feel great in your hands- pen loop definitely! slash pocket too. Will have to contemplate color choices… ;)

  130. Thomas Says:

    Looks very cool.

  131. Carey Says:

Love it! This is a gorgeous ring binder!

  132. Margaret Says:

Definitely a keeper for my secret old country recipes.

  133. Alan Says:

Awesome Idea! I’d go for one pen loop on the inside, but with a slash pocket on the inside of both front and back covers. As for the color, I’d choose molasses for the outside, and rust on the inside… I’m thinking of the cattle drives of the 1870’s; the trail boss pulls out his logbook to make a note about… would love to use it to store & compile ideas!

  134. Susan Gibbs Says:

Wow……found this site from reading a magazine article…..put it under favorites so my husband can also enjoy it…..great looking notebook….would love to win it!

  135. Sterling Says:

What a great idea! I hope that it catches on. I’d definitely need something like a pen loop on the inside and a slash pocket on the inside covers to hold odds and ends - hopefully not too many. It’s gorgeous as it is. Kudos for a great idea!

  136. Michelle Says:

As a person who hibitually loses her pens and resorts to shoving them in her hair, what a fantastic idea a pen loop is; and stashing that next ingenious idea in a secret little side pocket, rock on!

  137. Craig Cartmell Says:

How about a simple, clip in, plastic divider that guides your thumb immediately to the next blank card to stop you riffling through all those you have already written on?

  138. Rose Says:

How neat! like the slots for the binder rings, makes it fold sleeker.
I am thinking 1/2 inch and 1 inch.
1/2 inch for the sleek transport; I use my cards to manage my todo
One item per card. so don’t want to collect too many!
But I can see how a person could use a bigger one for other purposes.

    Very nice design

  139. Evan Brammer | Losing the World Says:

That would be fantastic for so many things.

  140. Jil Says:

Nice. Nice. Nice. May I have one?

  141. Gareth Says:

I think this just might be the thing I need: when it comes to flipping cards; the pocket briefcase is to cumbersome and the binder clip is too flimsy to.

  142. Khurram Says:

A pen-pocket on the inside edge of back cover. Rust outside and Cranberry inside would be be a perpetual pleasant surprise.

  143. Shannon Says:

    WOW! What a great idea!

  144. Ktb Says:

Lovely! Though I’d probably go for black and add a pen loop.
    Kate

  145. frano Says:

pen loop would be excellent! slash pocket would also be very helpful.

  146. Mike Says:

Very attractive. I like browns and greens.

  147. Patty Says:

fantastic! So glad I found your site!

  148. Mr.JLO Says:

I am just starting to use 3×5 cards to organize my task and for quick notes. I was thinking of “borowing” my wife’s cheep plastic 3×5 case but this one looks much much better. I hope I win. otherwize I’ll have to go to your store front and get one :)

  151. Jim Says:

This looks fantastic. I’m always looking for a functional yet elegant portable notebook. With a pen loop, this would be perfect!

  152. Jay Says:

For a person who still LOVES paper and depends on it constantly for reminders, dates, etc. this would be a very cool tool to have.

  153. Debbie Harris Says:

    This is stunningly beautiful.

  154. Cheryl Says:

I love it! I prefer the 1″ rings. Would love to have it! Thanks.

  155. Cheryl Says:

I am new to this site, but I love it already. And the 3X5 notebook is such an amazingly great idea. I love to use 3X5 cards and that notebook is first class! A perfect addition to a 3X5 card user! I know my friends and family will want one too!

  156. Marilse Says:

    Great design!

  157. Bernie Says:

Definitely with the pen loop and the 1″ rings. Nicely done

  158. Diana Says:

I always love looking at the school supplies at this time of the year. This is the grown up version of the classic 3-ring binder we all had at school. I could definitely use something like this to organize my 3×5 cards in my purse! Great idea!

  159. Teresa Says:

Very cool! I love the exposed rings. Is this available in a larger size?

  160. deborah martin Says:

Oh, this is a thing of beauty indeed. An exquisitely made blank book isn’t just an office product, it’s a kind of world, one that holds the promise of a journey undertaken in words and with a garden of facts, a river of narrative, or perhaps even a high plain of epiphany as its destination.

  163. Ingrid Says:

    Yeah!!!
I’m so happy I won, but I’m not sure how to give you my info. I’ve been checking the site every day — this is so great!

  172. Lucy Says:

  173. Dawn Deal Says:

I like it… love the 3×5 size. Would like to be able to have a pen loop and a band where you could mark locations/hold it together. Also would like dividers so you can have sections for Actions/ Projects/Waiting for/ etc.

  174. Nicole Says:

this is verrrrry nice! best i’ve seen so far.

  175. Debbie Says:

This is very cool - would be nice to have a pen loop, and slash pockets on the inner and outer cover. It would also be nice to have an attached bookmark (ribbon). Handy size for carrying!

  176. Geo Lago Says:

Excellent idea, would live to see a nice closure, something along the rustic straps used on the new Moleskine journal covers.

  177. Josh S. Says:

Love the rings poking through — functional, yet kinda funky.

  178. JB Says:

    Wow, that’s gorgeous! Love it.

  187. Sheryl Shelton Says:

I love this! My husband & I are really trying to make a go of the real estate biz - even in these crazy times… he’s got the gadgets, but I think this would totally fit me instead! Pen loops are nice, but gotta be stretchy for the fatter pens.

  188. Rex Washburn Says:

Looks awesome. Time to upgrade my kit.

  189. eriko Says:

Awesome looking product! If it’s either/or would get much more use out of a pen loop. But both would rock!

  190. Ami Says:

this looks so awesome! and so useful, i can store all my college papers in one binder and dont have to worry about edges getting wrinkled or something. i would love to have it! great- pen loops!! :D :)

  191. Harry Blanchard Says:

When I was much younger, I had a small 3×5 three ring binder which I used in school constantly. I thought I saved it but it was lost decades ago. I’ve looked around but never found anything like it. Now here it is in elegance!

  192. Mike Says:

Cool. No need for a pen loop, that’s what pocketses and shirt collars are for. This looks like a great binder for using and not worrying about how it ages.

  193. Rod Kreger Says:

Great design. This is exactly the type of thing that I’ve been searching for.

  194. Al Says:

Perfect size. This is great for organizing my 3×5 cards.

I will be using more than one.

  199. diane Says:

I could think of numerous things to do with this binder for 3×5 cards…let me win and i’ll share them. found this from http://www.diyplanner.com

  200. Jeffrey Says:

Looks great; would love to have one for the office. Saw the link from http://www.diyplanner.com.

  201. JENNI Says:

    I LOVE!!! the exposed rings!

  202. Edubb Says:

    Cool

  203. Mark Says:

Another stunning product as usual, functional, stylish, durable… What quality craftsmanship is all about….

  204. Linda Says:

Colors: Dark ocean blue-teal on the outside and medium light greenish-teal swirls on inside. A pen loop is helpful, but since it would need to be a relatively short pen, it would be helpful if it also came with the pen. A hemp or ribbon placemarker would be nice and a snap closure or hook/loop closure would also be nice. It would be nice in the 2 different sizes 3×5 and 4×6. However, keep price under $25. Now if you can do all that, you’ve got a great product!

  205. Max Says:

Woo!! Ive love to win this!!

  206. Tina Says:

I’d love something like this in 4×6 card size with 1/2″ or 3/4″ rings.

One or two stretchy pen loops

    Color–black, brown, or blue

Flat diagonal pocket on the outside front cover. Flat pockets on the inside front and back covers

This would replace my day planner. I want it, I need it, I must have it….:-)

  207. AmandaL Says:

This is perfect for a new project I’m working on. When will they be available?

  208. Nichola Files Says:

Awsome styling as well as function. This would be great for my husband…

  209. Peter R. Thorsen Jr. Says:

Great original idea. Would fit my needs perfectly!

  210. Wanda Says:

A pen loop and inside pocket would be great with this! Am I too late to be entered in the giveaway contest?

  211. Amy Says:

I love this, it’s such a great idea!

  212. Sharon Porter Says:

You’ve done it again! As a devoted fan, I never cease to be amazed at your creativity!

  213. Gill Says:

    Wow!!

Just what I need for recording details of my collection (of tarantulas incidentally)

A pen loop is essential and maybe two so a pencil can be kept handy for quick sketches.

I’m not sure I’d use an inner pocket but a clip in/out magnifier would be useful for those times I can’t locate my glasses.

  214. Ann Dillman Says:

Ocean and avocado would be a great offering on this for a gardener - water and trees. A pen loop or maybe a pen pocket on the front (top?) would be great and an inside pocket big enough to slide that business card one collects at the nursery or gardener’s conference. Wonderful idea - style and function - what else is there?

  215. Dopyiii Says:

    I love it. Very attractive.

  216. janet ramirez Says:

PRODUCTS AVE BEEN AWESOME HELP AT CHURCH

  217. janet ramirez Says:

LOVE THIS HLEPS ME AT CHURCH

  218. Tom Young Says:

This would be perfect for my 7th trip to Iraq!

  219. Tedra Says:

What a great design style. I hope whomever wins it enjoys it greatly!

  220. Lisa Hillborn Says:

    These are beautiful and stunning!

Pretty enough for a woman and “rugged” looking enough for a man! These little books look like they could go through the washer and come out looking even better.

I am always looking for a durable and attractive “notebook” to throw into my purse or in a jacket pocket that won’t fall apart or have pages come floating out randomly. And it’s REFILLABLE to boot!

A pen loop would be ideal but a closure of some type would be perfect…perhaps a buckle or double-d ring (like on a belt) with a leather strap???

  221. Norman Says:

I like that design. Do you have one for 7 ring binders?

  222. Jordan Says:

I like the look of this binder. I think it is cool looking, and all of the options make it really neat. Another idea I have for you is a Palm Pilot binder, or case.

  223. Judy Says:

I love leather!! This is a beautiful binder, great design job and pen loops are always handy. I think any artist be they cook, writer or painter would find this binder as a wonderful addition to their tools.

  224. Phoebe Says:

Very clever to have the exposed ring. That’s always been an annoying source of wear!

  225. Gregor McIntyre Says:

Looks good, would want to add an elastic loop for extra papers if it was up to me

  226. Robert Says:

Very nice design. The exposed rings (brilliant!) add interest and are functional. Yes to the pen loop and diag pocket.

  227. kathy prewitt Says:

This is wonderful and the binder is beautiful. This is wonderful!!

  228. James Hare Says:

I have been looking for a binder that will stand up to what a BBQ man can dish out. This looks like a winner!!

  229. erisraven Says:

This looks wonderful! Yes to the pen loop, definitely.

  230. Kevin Says:

    Nice leather!

  231. Megan Sneary Says:

This is my first time to the site (thanks DIY Planner) but won’t be my last. This little binder is perfect for a mom on the go - sturdy, fashionable and practical! I might just have to switch to 3×5 cards…..

  232. RU_anderson Says:

    Hi Love the design
    suggest 2 things
    1)
make sure any pen is fully covered /protected within the folder - taht way it cant snag when being lifted out of a bag/coat pocket.
    2)
make a virtue of the bulky cover
a pocket one side ala the moleskin design? and on the other a series of smaller slots for eg
    glasses screwdriver
    small blade
    sim card slot
    memory slot
    stamps
or another large flap for a passport.
this would make an excellent travel diary

and yes while i would like changes ( especially if the pen small blad/torch could fitinto the spine of the folder…)

I’d still very much like the look of it as it is (and indeed would be pleased to recieve one - hint!) - so if making these changes they should not be visable from the outside of the folder.

  233. Karen Says:

Beautiful! A ‘bottom’ pen loop would be good.

  234. Michelle Russell Says:

AAAAAHHHHH!!! This looks like exactly what I’ve been looking for!

Pen loop? A must. Same with an inside pocket–maybe two of them. I’m also a huge fan of distressed leather.

The only things I’m not nuts about are the slits that the rings poke through. I’d rather have a clean look with a solid cover.

  235. Dawn Says:

So beautiful! This is a perfect little notebook.

  236. MJ Hoover Says:

    Maybe this time?

    It would be nice.

  237. wren Says:

*jumps up and down* Pick me, pick me! Brown and cranberry with a pen loop and slash pocket - perfect!

  238. Denise Cox Says:

Oh my, I would just love to see this in earth tones…deep autumn colors…deep red like cranberry and maple bark. That would be quite nice. A pen loop is vital. A diag. pocket could store that note or two that I always have. I could use this for my flylady routines or my business contacts, etc. I see many uses.

  244. Franking Machines Says:

I think this quite a useful tool, can be used for any jot down ideas or the spur of the moment thoughts. Not necessary to be used for recipe cards, or similar activities. But to compile a tow tone card binder I’d show off my feminine side with a splash of shocking pink and white strips. Classical, girlish and tempting.
